"As
time goes by…..", to quote Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca.
Time
goes by for each one of us, and of course for our teeth
as well. If
unfortunately, after taking the appropriate precautions, some
teeth are lost, it is a relief to note that Implantology
has recently reached a great level of success.
This
is thanks to the use of "Osseointegrated Implants".
-
In
a situation in which all the teeth are missing
it is possible to replace them individually, even if we
suggest an "implant supported overdenture"
(more successful and less costly).
In this case, all the teeth are missing in the upper and/or
lower jaw, and we use only 2-4 implants, while
a "horse shoe" shaped denture
is placed on top (therefore avoiding the use of
glue, which is often resorted to with a full denture).
(see
figs. 3-4-5).
